High level expertise in diseases of the prostate

Professor Henry Woo is a nationally and internationally recognised urological surgeon, renowned for his expertise in the diagnosis and management of prostate diseases. He is highly regarded by both his patients and professional colleagues for his clinical excellence, leadership, and contributions to the field of urology.
Professor Woo serves as Director of Uro-Oncology at the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse in Sydney, Australia, where urological services are provided within a private hospital setting. He is also Head of the Department of Urology at Blacktown Hospital and Mount Druitt Hospital, both of which operate within the public healthcare system.
Professor Woo is a Conjoint Professor at the Blacktown Mount Druitt Clinical School of Western Sydney University and an Honorary Professor at the Australian National University. He has previously served as Professor of Surgery with the University of Sydney and Professor of Urology with he Australian National University.
Raised in Sydney, Professor Woo attended North Ryde High School before gaining admission to the Sydney Medical School. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and subsequently completed extensive research in prostate disease, earning the degree of Doctor of Medical Science (DMedSc).
Professor Woo commenced surgical training in general surgery before specialising in urology. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS), marking the beginning of a distinguished career in urological surgery.
Grateful for the opportunities that enabled his career in surgery, Professor Woo is deeply committed to educating future generations of urologists and advancing the profession. As an elected Fellow Councillor of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, he has served in numerous leadership roles. He currently chairs the Fellowship Services Committee and the Robot-Assisted Surgery Advisory Group.
Professor Woo also serves as a Board Director of the Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate Cancer Trials Group (ANZUP), the Australasian Urological Foundation, and the Better Foundation.
In addition to his clinical and governance responsibilities, Professor Woo contributes extensively to academic urology. He serves on the editorial boards of several international urological journals and is currently Editor-in-Chief of the Société Internationale d'Urologie Journal.
